este copia pt Europa a primului cas stereo portabil cu caseta compact(TM) facut sub brand SUA (patronat o perioada de Philips) -Mercury TR-8700; fata de acesta se deosebeste numai prin mufele DIN (in loc de jack) si pozitionarea acestora lateral (la TR-8700 sunt frontale, mai accesibile) ; tranzistorizat, boxe detasabile, mecanica de Philips. Varianta pt Asia era Aiwa TP-1004, identic cu Mercury TR-8700. Functional, cu microfon.

it is the copy for Europe of the first portable stereo recorder with compact- cassette (TM) made under an USA brand (bought for a while by Philips) - Mercury TR-8700; it differs from TR only by the DIN plugs (instead of jacks) and their positioning on the lateral side (on the TR-8700 they are in front, more accessible); transistorized, removable speakers, Philips mechanics. The variant for Asia was the Aiwa TP-1004, identical to the Mercury TR-8700.
